Dr. Ryan Rucker is an instructor within the Department of Information Systems Technology at Midlands Technical College. In addition, he teaches online graduate courses in instructional design/technology and educational research at George Mason University. Dr. Rucker has over ten years of information technology and instructional design experience by serving in various positions (Senior Instructional Designer, Technical Trainer, Instructional Systems Analyst, and Desktop Technician). Furthermore, he has been teaching face-to-face, blended, and fully online courses since June 2011.
His primary research interests are technology adoption within all educational environments, effective course design and delivery, and the implementation of quality assurance measurements within the online classroom. He has published articles in the Quarterly Review of Distance Education, Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration, Distance Learning, Journal of online Higher Education and Journal of Educational Technology Systems. In addition, Dr. Rucker is a certified Quality Matters Peer Reviewer and Master Reviewer, along with having the Online Learning Consortium’s online teaching certificate.
